SCRIPTURE CORNER

Consolatrix afflictorum - Ora pro nobis!
Comfort of the afflicted - pray for us!

God is " the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort."2 Cor 1,3
These words are great consolation to us for we live in the valley of tears. Since the first cry of the newborn child up to his last hour, the life is like a steep, narrow and dangerous road: "heavy yoke is upon the children of Adam, from the day of their coming out of their mother's womb, until the day of their burial into the mother of all "Ecclesiasticus 40,1.
But in all difficulties of our earthly existence we have, by our side, God of all consolations. He gave us Mary, Mother of the afflicted. We read in the Scriptures: "He that hath not been tried, what manner of things doth he know?"Ecclesiasticus 34,11. Our Blessed Lady was afflicted the most by many trials. That is why she is the best comforter for those in need. Let us turn to her in our difficulties, sorrows and desolations - she is always ready to help us. In time like this, go to church, kneel before Our Lady's statue and pray fervently imploring her help in simplest words - like a child to his mother. Remembering this, let us also, in her name, be comfort to our afflicted neighbour.
